Hello Pastor West,
I was just writing to let you and any church member about how these last few weeks during the 40 Days of Purpose has changed my life. Well, let my start by saying I had no intention of joining any small group because I did not know anything about it because I was not attending church to find out. I was on my lunch break from work and I was in my car praying "Lord please put the fire back in my spirit to worship you like I should", then a song came on gospel highway and I started to cry ( not because I was sad) but because I felt the holy spirit. So, I get to the bank and I see Sister Diane White-Norris in the (did I mention I never do my banking at this particular bank) bank and she invited me to be in her small group and I said "yes". From the very beginning I knew it was of GOD to put me at that bank at that time. I'm not going to take up to much more of your time but I can't say often about how this experience change my life. I grow up in the church but for the first time I finally realized what I was doing all these years really did not mean a thing to Jesus I was a just a member of Siloam. When I read the first chapter in The Purpose driven Life, I realized it wasn't about me but it was all about Jesus. Not what the church can do for me but what I can do for the church. I finally realized that it meant to be a born again christian. Finally, when I decided to join a small group I wanted it to be a singles group but GOD placed Diane in my path and it isn't my will it is GOD's will and it truly is a blessing. GOD answered my pray that day and put the fire back in my spirit so now I'm going to do my part and fellowship, worship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. As God continues to work with me will you pray for me. |
Hello Pastor West, Church Family, & Friends,
I don't know where to start except to say that, God is Awesome,He is Marvelous,He is Faithful, & Always on TIME!!! My husband and my small group have been Blessed tremendously from day one! Everyone had a breakthrough moment from one week to another. My mother in law re-dedicated her life to Christ on the second week and the following week closed us out in such a spirited filled prayer that it brought tears to my eyes! Burdens were lifted off of a single mother and she let out some much needed cleansing tears. One week the member's of Siloam shared how much we were Blessed by our church family during our times of need, and just saying it to other's that were not apart of our Siloam family just filled us with such an appreciation for the church family God has Blessed us with.The accountability in our group was awesome. It was a change for most, but it kept us in line with our purpose and God's word. We did not pacify each other, there were many tears along with the laughter. But praise God it was all done in love and received as such.Two members admitted that if it had not been for the small group meetings they would have continued on the crooked path they were traveling,Glory Be to God!!!! Many of us realized that we were playing Christians and church and needed to take God and our walk with Him MUCH MORE SERIOUSLY. God loves,cares,provides, protects, and gave His only Son for us!!!...How dare we give Him anything less than what He deserves!! Personally for me, God has moved in my life in such a mighty way. I'm now more sensitive to His voice,He caresses me now where before it was a touch,He cradles me now, where before I felt a slight hug...I desire that closeness with God ALWAYS...I want to fulfill my purpose and be pleasing to God.This campaign has changed me as a wife,mother,& a friend. My singing is different,my dance is different, and most importantly my life as a CHILD OF GOD has been forever changed!!! I FELL IN LOVE WITH GOD, and this is a place I don't ever want to leave.....Hallelujah!!! Thank You Pastor West for such a Priceless gift!!!
P.S. Our small group has also decided to continue meeting!!!

Dear Siloam family,
Who is the Holy Spirit? Why did God create humans in the first place – we give him so much trouble! Is it OK to ask God questions? These are some of the questions that have already come up in our Small Group gathering. The 40 Days program is giving us an opportunity to reflect on our walk with the Lord and minister to a young believer at the same time. What a wonderful God we serve who honors our desire to know and serve Him better!
God is good!
